A Lower Chichester mother was sentenced to time served to 23 months with three consecutive years of probation Tuesday after pleading “no contest” to endangering the welfare of children when her 4-year-old son was found wandering around outside alone last year.

Kierra S. Forney, 37, of the 1300 block of Market Street, had served a single day in jail June 19, according to defense attorney Robert Keller.

Assistant District Attorney Shuaiyb Newton, standing in for ADA Kaylyn Wigginton before Common Pleas Court Judge Stephanie Klein, said the grading on the one count was being changed from a third-degree felony to a first-degree misdemeanor and that a second endangerment charge was being dismissed under the plea.
