Morristown East has one more chance to sharpen up before Region 1-6A play begins when it welcomes Gibbs to Burke Toney Stadium on Friday night.

The ‘Canes (1-2) are coming off a 20-13 loss to Crockett last week where they showed improvement from a shutout loss to Harden Valley, but ultimately fell thanks to a 99-yard passing touchdown by the Pioneers on third-and-long.

“I thought kids played extremely hard,” head coach Dallas Kuykendall said. “We were extremely physical on both sides of the football, you know, you know, I think kids did a good job of focusing on the game plan.
