A Weld County school board president was recently honored with a state award recognizing his commitment and passion to the communities he serves.
Weld RE-4 School Board President Lance Nichols received the Colorado Association of School Boards’ McGuffey Award, which is presented annually to recognize and honor school board members who have demonstrated committed, passionate and exemplary service to their school district and community, according to a Weld RE-4 School District news release.
Nichols was appointed to the Weld RE-4 board of education in March 2021 and was elected to his first term in 2023. The Weld RE-4 School District consists of seven elementary schools, three middle schools and two high schools across Windsor and Severance.
