Curtis Brown will rep the literary estate of J.R.R. Tolkien going forwards.
A deal between Curtis Brown Heritage and Tolkien State, which is the custodian of the the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit writer’s literary works.
Curtis Brown CEO Jonny Geller said his UK-based agency was welcoming “one of the great literary estates of the world.”
Tolkien’s works, mainly set in the Middle-earth world, are considered foundational to the modern fantasy genre, and have been adapted numerous times for film and television. The newest of these, the Andy Serkis-directed The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum (working title), is slated for a mid-December 2027 theatrical release by Warner Bros. Pictures.
