CLEVELAND, Ohio — Despite facing multiple investigations and accusations of misconduct, Cleveland Ward 1 Councilman Joe Jones maintained won the most votes in Tuesday night’s primary election, according to unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections.

As of 11:15 p.m. election officials had tallied votes from all 19 precincts in Ward 1, along with early voting and mail-in ballots.

Jones had just over 60% of the vote, followed by state Rep. Juanita Brent with about 30%, Lesa Jones Dollar with nearly 4%, and Marc Crosby and Aylwin Bridges with less than 3% each. The top two finishers will advance to November’s general election.
