There’s a great deal of history between the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Gov’t Mule as their short round of September dates together reaches the Pine Knob Music Theatre.

Derek Trucks and Gov’t Mule co-founder Warren Haynes have known each other for decades and played together in the Allman Brothers Band from 2000-2014, and in special reunion and tribute shows since — most recently during April at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

They remain kindred musical spirits, and Trucks co-wrote and played on three tracks for Haynes’ 2024 solo album “Million Voices Whisper” and a new set of stripped-down renditions of those songs, “The Whisper Sessions.” Haynes, meanwhile, appears on a track from Tedeschi Trucks’ new “Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited (Live at Lockin’),” which was performed a deca
