MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa (KWQC) - A multi-agency investigation began after a package with narcotics was stopped before it was delivered to a Mount Pleasant home.

On Aug. 27 four agencies started a joint investigation after getting information about a package with narcotics inside that was set to be delivered to a Mount Pleasant home, according to a media release.

The four agencies were:

The Mount Pleasant Police Department

The Drug Enforcement Administration

Iowa State Patrol Division of Narcotics Enforcement

The Southwest Iowa Narcotics Task Force

On Sept. 2 the package was stopped and a K9 unit was deployed. Officials said the K9 alerted to the package and search warrant was gathered to open it.

Officials said inside the package was a “large amount” of THC vape smoking devices.
