College football season is well underway, and that means rivalry games are coming up.
For historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), these matchups happen almost every weekend.
From Week 1 in August through the end of the season in December, there are HBCU Classics up and down the schedule.
In HBCU football, a "classic" matchup has been a premier event for decades, according to the NCAA . Similar to a homecoming game, it brings rivals together and carries a historical value for both programs. Between the pregame tailgates to music and dancing, the schools and students involved go all-out for classics.
There are three classics on tap for this coming weekend. Here's the schedule:
