Two restaurants new to the Boston dining scene were selected as among the top 50 eateries in the New York Times’ 2025 Restaurant List. The list , which the Times publishes annually, selects restaurants across cuisines and price points for their “delicious food and a mastery of craft, but also a generosity of spirit and a singular point of view.”
This year, Boston scored twice on this list with La Padrona in Back Bay and McGonagle’s in Dorchester.

La Padrona, which opened in May, is a new Italian concept from chef Jody Adams, located in the Raffles Hotel. Its elevated ambiance– and elevated prices to match– set it apart, according to the Times.
