The Windsor Spitfires hardly seemed like a team in need of another forward.
The Spitfires have 11 forwards in camp that spent time with the team last season and another three that are still in camp battling for a roster spot.
Despite that, the Spitfires moved on Wednesday to add more depth by acquiring forward Cole Dubowsky from the Barrie Colts for an 11 th -round pick in the 2026 Ontario Hockey League Draft, which originally belonged to the Brampton Steelheads.
“I’m a little shocked, but excited to get started,” the 18-year-old Dubowsky said. “I heard they’re going to be a good team and I’m looking forward to a fresh start and what I can bring to the table.”
