The horrors outlined in Armstrong Williams’s excellent op-ed (“ America’s complicity in China’s organ harvesting ,” Aug. 31) expose one of the gravest human rights crises of our time. I know, because for 20 years I’ve reported on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP’s) systematic killing of Falun Gong practitioners — a group targeted since 1999 for their spiritual beliefs in Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance — to harvest their organs for profit.

Imprisonment and torture were already widespread, but evil on the level of state-sponsored, large-scale organ harvesting only came to light in 2006. And yet, even as the evidence piled up, there was scant external pressure to stop it.
