Ashfield District Council will defend its stance against 100 homes being built near Hucknall after a housing developer appealed to the government.

The planning committee met today (September 10) to discuss its defence of previously rejected plans for 100 homes off Common Lane, in an area known locally as Misk Hills.

The council rejected the plans in 2023 and the developer, Aldergate Properties Ltd, resubmitted its proposals in 2024 .

The developer has appealed to the government’s Planning Inspectorate over the “non-determination” of the plans, the council says. Inspectors can overrule local authority planning decisions.
