Los Feliz - - One person was killed early this morning in a two-vehicle collision near the Los Angeles-Glendale border near Griffith Park.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the transition road from the westbound Ventura (134) Freeway to the northbound Golden State (5) Freeway at 3:15 a.m. Wednesday, where they found a BMW sedan and a gray sedan blocking several lanes of the transition road, CHP Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service.

One person who was trapped in a vehicle that was on fire was declared dead at the scene, according to the L.A. Fire Department.

The victim, whose name, age and gender is not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene, Garcia said.

NBC 4 reported one of the vehicles burst into flames after the collision.
