Inflammation is the leading cause of chronic disease in our country. However, most medical professionals don’t know how to test for it and don’t know how to find the mechanism driving it.

You can run and monitor simple labs to see if you have inflammation and if it’s improving. Some of my favorite labs to run are below:

C-reactive protein: 0–3 mg/L

Homocysteine: < 8 umol/L

Ferritin: < 122 ng/mL

LDH: 144–180 IU/L

Uric acid: 3.2–5.5 mg/dL

Vitamin D: Vitamin D is a negative Acute phase reactant and will decrease under inflammation. Our optimal range is 50-80.
