SWAN, Iowa —

Residents of Swan in Marion County have voted to un-incorporate their town in a special election on Tuesday.

The population of Swan is 70, and 34 people cast ballots in the election.

Unofficial results show that 20 people voted yes to un-incorporate, accounting for nearly 59% of the vote, while 14 people voted no.

The election results will need to be certified by the Marion County Board of Supervisors.
