CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - A man is behind bars after he allegedly held a gun to a woman’s head inside his Cape Girardeau apartment.

According to court documents, the victim told police the suspect, 18-year-old Daniel Washburn, also threatened to shoot her.

The incident happened early Tuesday morning, September 9, according to a probable cause statement.

Investigators say they found a firearm with the serial number scratched off underneath the bathroom sink.

Washburn is charged with unlawful use of a firearm and possession of a defaced firearm.

He’s being held at the Cape Girardeau County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
