TOLEDO, Ohio — After years of costumes, crowds and “braaaains,” organizers of the Adams Street Zombie Crawl announced Tuesday night the annual event is "dead" and has come to an end.
The Village on Adams, which has overseen the Zombie Crawl and other neighborhood events, said the decision followed years of challenges with size, logistics and neighborhood response.
"After taking 2024 off to regroup and rethink the event, we had every intention to relaunch this year, but during the planning process, the response from the neighborhood wasn't in favor of hosting this party anymore," organizers said.
Organizers cited the fencing, the need for a significant security presence and the "huge interruption of what Adams Street is truly all about" as reasons to stop the crawl.
