The first named storm of the season, Storm Amy, could hit the UK this weekend, and the Met Office has just delivered their verdict on the possibility.

Over the course of the coming days, the weather is expected to become notably fresher and breezier, due to the jet stream being positioned to the south of the country.

This sudden shift from the relatively calmer weather the UK has enjoyed will create something of an unsettled cocktail.

However, the Met Office has said it's unlikely to see Storm Amy hit the shores of Britain, along with the potential of snow, much to the disappointment of the nation's school children.
