HARTLAND- The search of a man's home in Hartland has ended in a deadly confrontation .

Somerset Count Sheriff Dale Lancaster says about 5:30 this morning deputies went to the home of Isaac Robinson at 98 Main Street to execute a search warrant.

Lancaster says after entering they found Robinson in his bedroom with a knife.

He says the deputies told Robinson to drop the knife but he advanced toward them.

Deputy William Crawford and Detective Michael Lyman shot Robinson. He died at the scene.

Crawford and Lyman have been placed on administrative leave which is standard protocol for any officer involved shooting.

Maine State Police and the Attorney General's Office are investigating.
