HOLLAND, MI — A Michigan battery manufacturer is urging its South Korean employees not to come into work after U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents raided a Georgia plant last week.

Immigration officials said they detained 475 people on Thursday, Sept. 4, most of them South Korean nationals, at the Hyundai plant being built near Savannah, according to the Associated Press.

The plant is a joint venture between Hyundai and LG Energy Solution, which has three electric vehicle battery plants in Holland , Troy and Hazel Park.

LG Energy Solution, which employed most of the detained workers, instructed its South Korean employees in the U.S. on B-1 or B-2 short-term visit visas not to report to work until further notice. Workers with an Electronic System for Travel Author
