KITTERY, Maine — Bolstered by a civilian payroll exceeding $762 million, the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard has again broken its record for annual economic impact.

The base's total economic impact exceeded $1.6 billion in 2024, according to the Seacoast Shipyard Association , which released its annual report Sept. 10. The exact figure of $1,615,239,781 is an increase of about 5% from the $1,536,567,511 impact in 2023 .
