Heavier rainfall will fall across northwest New Mexico this afternoon, along with southwest Colorado. Scattered storms will also pop up across most of western and northern New Mexico, along with central parts of the state, down to the Sacramento Mountain, and in eastern New Mexico. Some showers will stick around overnight and into Thursday morning in central and northern parts of the state.

The most active weather days of the week will be Thursday and Friday as an approaching low pressure system draws more moisture into western New Mexico and southwest Colorado. This is where the focus for the heaviest rain will be again, especially in the San Juan Mountains.
