Jury: Sunbury man guilty of voluntary manslaughter in 2022 shooting

SUNBURY — A Northumberland County jury found Randy Easton guilty of felony voluntary manslaughter Wednesday afternoon after a two-day trial.

Sunbury police say Easton, 45, of Sunbury, shot and killed Joey Rice, 33, of Sunbury in 2022. According to expert witness testimony during the trial, Rice died from a gunshot that pierced his aorta, the largest artery in his body.
