A snake found at Sooke Potholes is sparking a smattering of concern in the reptile-loving community.

Now in the care of a veterinarian, an image of the snake posted by CRD Animal Shelter Sept. 9 sparked many a comment including “that snake is sick.”

Many of the nearly 200 comments shared concerns for the wellbeing of the animal, pointing out ailments based off the image.

The feedback spurred the CRD to update the post noting all animals in their care are treated by vets, funded by the regional agency.

The shelter holds animals three to five days under the various municipal animal control bylaws, before being put up for adoption.
