Baltimore Orioles outfielder Colton Cowser took a detour before Wednesday's game to go to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.

Instead, the Orioles star joined the Oriole Bird to take photos with members of the hospital's staff — a small gesture that hospital leaders said had a big impact.
"The level of enthusiasm is off the charts. I know he's one of their heroes, so it's exciting to have him here on campus," said T.J. Senker, president of MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital.
MedStar Health has provided care for the Orioles organization for 10 years, and the organizations recently renewed their partnership for another decade.
