The spaces are parts of Johnson County’s public safety system that most rarely get to see from the inside.
On Tuesday, my Greenwood Police Citizens Academy classmates and I got to tour the inside of the Johnson County jail, along with the 911 center. As a journalist, I’ve been inside both buildings for stories. But this time was different. It was a tour, and I was able fully take in what I was seeing, unlike the quick in-and-outs journalists on deadlines usually experience.
