RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says investigators have recovered a stolen vehicle linked to a 2022 homicide in Eastover.

On Monday, September 8, deputies pulled a black 2007 Chevrolet Impala from the Wateree River. The car had been missing since January 10, 2022, when 81-year-old Lewis Jenerette was found shot to death inside his Hickory Hill Road home.

According to investigators, Jenerette’s vehicle was stolen from the scene of the crime. At the time, it was reported missing with South Carolina license plate RJC425.

In March 2022, Sheriff Leon Lott announced the arrest of Jadon Harper , then 18, in connection with Jenerette’s murder. Harper was charged with murder, though deputies said at the time they believed other suspects could be involved.
