A suspect is in custody after the shooting of Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Wednesday, Sept. 10, according to CNN , the BBC and The New York Times .

According to CNN , the incident occurred while Kirk, 31, was on campus as part of his "American Comeback Tour."
