Legendary American conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck during an outdoor campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

His condition has not been released as of this update.

Video from the scene shows Kirk speaking under a white tent when a gunshot rings out. He grabs his neck and collapses as attendees scatter. A university spokesperson said the shot came from a nearby building.

President Donald Trump released an immediate statement, saying, “We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!”

Video of a man taken into custody was also posted to social media.
