Conservative influencer Charlie Kirk was shot at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, on Sept. 10, the Deseret News reported.

Utah Valley University was the latest stop on Kirk’s The American Comeback Tour . The Turning Point USA leader had been scheduled to come to Indiana University Bloomington on Oct. 21. He recently spoke at Purdue University in Lafayette.

The university confirmed the shooting and said a suspected shooter had been taken into custody as of 1:15 MT.

Kirk, 31, was reportedly shot during a question-and-answer session with students, the Deseret News reported.
