CHAPEL HILL — Caleb Love made the pitch, Henri Veesaar made the move.

Teammates for two seasons at Arziona, Veesaar says Love had "a lot of influence" in helping head coach Hubert Davis and UNC basketball land the 7-footer, 225-pound center from Estonia.

"It had a lot of influence. I'm very close with Caleb. From last year, I kind of asked him what he thought about this program, how his relationships were with the coaches and how he saw me fitting into this program," Veesaar said Sept. 10 inside the Smith Center media room.

"Everything he said checked all the boxes for me. He said it was a great place to be here, they're definitely gonna push me to get better here. That's all I could ask for."
