BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — Conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot during an event at Utah Valley University.
North Dakota senator John Hoeven said in an email statement to KX News, “There is no place for violence in our nation’s political discourse. We appreciate the work of law enforcement in bringing the suspect into custody. Mikey and I are praying for Charlie and his family.”
North Dakota Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak put out a statement on X, which read, "Please join me in praying for @charliekirk11, his family, and his medical team. Such a tragedy for one of our youngest political leaders and someone trying to make our country better."
Kirk, who is 31, is currently reported to be in critical condition by the AP.
