Texas leaders responded to news of political activist Charlie Kirk's shooting

Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University when he was shot.

There is no suspect in custody. Earlier, the university said there was a suspect in custody, but officials have since said no one has been detained.
