Reactions to Wednesday's shooting of conservative activist and podcast host Charlie Kirk on Wednesday were swift and wide ranging, with politicians across the political spectrum offering prayers and condemning political violence.

Shortly after Kirk's nonprofit Turning Point USA confirmed the shooting, President Donald Trump weighed in, saying, "We must all pray for Charlie Kirk, who has been shot. A great guy from top to bottom. GOD BLESS HIM!"

Utah Valley University issued a statement shortly after the shooting on its campus, saying, "Today at about 12:10 (p.m.) a shot was fired at the visiting speaker, Charlie Kirk. He was hit and taken from the location by his security. Campus police is investigating, a suspect is in custody."
