LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Kentucky fans are likely to see a new face starting under center this week.
Quarterback Zach Calzada exited in the fourth quarter against Ole Miss with a shoulder injury, prompting redshirt freshman Cutter Boley to take over for the final drives.
Mark Stoops said Wednesday in his SEC Teleconference that Boley has taken the majority of first-team reps in practice.
“I’m going to get out there and let it rip, that’s for sure.” said Boley on Tuesday. “I feel like I have grown in a lot of areas, but specifically being a captain and commander on the field.”
In limited action against Ole Miss, Boley completed 1 of 3 passes, including a 38-yard explosive connection to Hardley Gilmore.
