Police are seeking a driver over a fatal hit-and-run in Victoria overnight.
Emergency services were called to Bacchus Marsh Road at Lara, near Geelong, about 11pm yesterday where they found a male pedestrian dead on the road.
It's believed the man, whose identity remains unknown, was struck by a vehicle which left the scene.
9News understands the man was on crutches when he was hit.
The exact circumstances of the incident are being scrutinised by police crash investigation experts.
It is possible the driver did not realise they'd struck a pedestrian.
Bacchus Marsh Road in Lara remains closed in both directions this morning as police continue to investigate.
