SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI)-- The Port of San Diego may be receiving a major makeover in the near future, courtesy of the local and beloved seafood restaurant bar The Brigantine.
The popular San Diego seafood restaurant, which also operates The Fish Market and Top of the Market on North Harbor Drive at the Embarcadero, has proposed investing $25.5 million to redevelop and modernize the Port of San Diego.
On Tuesday, the Port of San Diego Board of Port Commissioners advanced the proposed project to the environmental review stage, according to a press release from the Port of San Diego.
The proposal involves transforming the area into a two-level dining epicenter called The Landing, complete with two new restaurants and banquet rooms for private events and large gatherings. The Brigantine will
