LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Political leaders across the aisle in Kentucky and southern Indiana are speaking out after conservative activist Charlie Kirk was fatally shot on Wednesday.

Kirk, a popular conservative political activist and media personality, was at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah as part of his "American Comeback Tour."

President Donald Trump confirmed in a social media post that Kirk had died from his injuries.

According to the Associated Press, university officials said a single shot was fired. Officials said a suspect has not been arrested, despite a school spokesperson earlier saying there was someone in custody.
