A pair of Bay State men have offered guilty pleas in connection with what federal prosecutors describe as a conspiracy to manufacture and distribute counterfeit pills containing fentanyl and other illicit substances.
According to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Leah Foley and Jarod Forget, the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division, Elmidio Crisostomo, 30, of Lynnfield and David Depena, 32, of Lynn, have both pleaded guilty on a charge of “conspiracy to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances.”
The pair were originally indicted by a federal grand jury in November of 2023.
