When I show you the statistics on southeast Michigan’s summer weather, you might be surprised.

I’ve heard from a lot of you that you felt like it was a very hot summer. If you have those thoughts, you will be surprised.

Now remember- I did find that all of southeast Michigan had a very humid July . Detroit, Ann Arbor and Flint had our third muggiest July on record. Saginaw, Bay City and Midland had our fourth muggiest July on record.

Often, muggy air won’t heat up to record temperatures on the actual thermometer. However the humid air also doesn’t cool down much at night.

This summer’s temperatures were just slightly warmer than normal. None of the four climate points had a top-10 warmest summer. Only Saginaw had a top-20 warmest summer, with our 19th warmest on record. The temperatu
