ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The St. Johns County Fire Rescue says the gas leak that prompted a shelter in place notice is not causing a danger for residents.
The shelter in place notice for people within a quarter of a mile of 574 A1A North in Ponte Vedra was issued around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
The gas leak was causing heavy traffic in the area all afternoon, ongoing at 5:16 p.m.
SJFR says the leak is natural gas and it will dissipate, however, they need people to stay out of the area and not interrupt workers who are fixing the leak.
