If neighbourhoods looked a little bit cleaner this summer, its likely the result of a property standards blitz carried out in May.
The results of the initiative were publicly shared and discussed at a city council meeting on Sept. 2. City clerk Steph Palmateer provided the report.
“Bylaw officers identified 135 properties on their own. During the month, 338 cases were received, for a total of 473 cases during the month,” he said.
From these cases, 228 were specifically related to yard and property standard issues.
“So the total number of complaints during the month was pretty typical, between 470 and 500 complaints. What was unique about this month, was the number of complaints related to property standards and yard cleanup issues.”
