Speaker Mike Johnson led the House of Representatives in a moment of silence and prayer for conservative activist Charlie Kirk Wednesday, who was fatally shot during an event at a college in Utah.

House Speaker Mike Johnson urged all members to stand and observe "a moment of prayer for Charlie Kirk and his family."

But the bipartisan moment disappeared almost instantly.

Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican, spoke out to call for a spoken prayer.

Democrats quickly yelled back at her, pointing to a school shooting that happened in Colorado Wednesday and urging her to support gun control legislation.
