SALT LAKE CITY – Lauri Markkanen and Team Finland punched their ticket to the EuroBasket Semifinals on Wednesday.

Markkanen helped lead Finland past Georgia in a 93-79 victory in the round of eight.

Markkanen Helps Guarantee Best Finish For Finland At EuroBasket

Finland beat Georgia in an improbable matchup after the two teams shocked EuroBasket with a pair of upsets in the opening round of knockout play.

On Saturday, Markkanen scored 29 points to help Finland eliminate Nikola Jokic and Serbia, while Georgia stunned France with an 80-70 victory.

The Utah Jazz All-Star helped Finland jump out to a 28-15 lead after one quarter, before building the gap to 17 points at the half.
