MANSFIELD, Ohio (WOIO) - There are new details on a wild case that 19 Investigates first broke two weeks ago.

Attorneys for a man who was body slammed by a Mansfield cop have now filed a federal lawsuit.

The suit names the City of Mansfield and two officers who were first on the scene, including the one who slammed 67-year-old Charles Roberts on the asphalt pavement.

The complaint also notes this officer happens to be an accomplished professional boxer.

Bodycam video from Mansfield police captured the incident which led to the suit’s filing.

The incident happened on April 22, just before 1 a.m. at the corner of Bowman and West Fourth Street in Mansfield.
