Andy Roddick has highlighted the reason behind Aryna Sabalenka’s dominant performance against Amanda Anisimova at the US Open final. The 27-year-old lifted her fourth career Grand Slam after successfully defending the US Open, becoming the first woman to win back-to-back crowns at Flushing Meadows since Serena Williams in 2014.
The win was an important one for Sabalenka, who came into the competition at the back of two heartbreaking defeats in the final of two major tournaments. She suffered her first Slam final loss of the season at the Australian Open, losing to American star Madison Keys in three sets, despite being the favorite to win the title.
Then at the French Open, she reached her first final at the clay major but lost to another American player, Coco Gauff , 7-6(6)
