WELLS, Maine — For residents of Blueberry Ridge Mobile Home Park in Wells, the water coming out of their taps isn't just an inconvenience—it's become a daily reminder of a problem they say has gone unresolved for years.
"I don't want to shower in dirty water. And we're being told it’s fine to drink," said Sylvia Rowe, one of about a dozen residents who spoke with NEWS CENTER Maine. The group says they've been dealing with brown water, annual rent hikes, and what they feel is a lack of response from the park's owners.
Many of the park's residents are retirees on fixed incomes. They moved to Blueberry Ridge to downsize and stretch their retirement dollars—people like Patty Gordon, who relocated after her husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's.
