MADISON — A year ago, William Sawalich was making a name for himself on the ARCA circuit at the Du Quoin State Fairgrounds.

This past weekend, he returned to Southern Illinois racing territory in a much bigger spotlight — as a full-time Xfinity Series driver with Joe Gibbs Racing — needing a win to close out the season.
