LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A man convicted of sexually assaulting a young girl over the course of a decade has been sentenced to decades in prison.

39-year-old Franwil Castillo was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault of a child, possession of child pornography, generation of child pornography and two other sex-related felonies.

He was sentenced to 60–90 years in prison, with 367 days credited for time served.

The case began after a 17-year-old girl reported to the Lincoln Police Department on April 11, 2024, that Castillo had been assaulting her, according to an arrest affidavit.

Investigators later determined the abuse had been happening since she was 7 years old.
