BISMARCK — North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong directed all U.S. and North Dakota flags to be flown at half-staff from Wednesday, Sept. 10, through Sunday, Sept. 14, to honor Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA.
Kirk was shot dead at Utah Valley University on Wednesday during a Turning Point USA event. The right-wing political organization travels to school campuses to advocate for ultra-conservative values, according to its website.
“Kjersti and I extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the family of Charlie Kirk after this senseless and reprehensible act. There is absolutely no place in America for political violence,” Armstrong said in a Wednesday release.
